Board of Directors

Anna Berg
Co-Founder/Managing Director

Anna Berg is a commercial underwriter by day, and a professional dog trainer and rescuer by night. Her passion for dog training and rescue began with her own aggressive heeler nearly a decade ago. Since then, she has mentored under a certified behaviorist for over two years, attended the Victoria Stilwell Academy, and has accumulated more than 500 behavior modification hours through her years of dog training. She founded Dogs Unleashed dog training in Salem, Oregon, and trained hundreds of clients with a variety of behaviors and breeds.

Her passion/soft spots are herding breeds, the under socialized, and momma dogs. Anna regularly engages in continuing education such as the Aggression in Dogs Conference, and more. Her passion also includes community education of dog behavior and “how to talk dog and meet their needs” and regularly provides free educational opportunities and mentorships.

Julia Blond

She is our Swiss army knife; vital to keeping our rescue in working order and always available for support. Currently, Julia handles much of our social media and marketing, contract coordination, foster support, and much more.

Sherry Yates
Board Member/Assistant Director

Sherry started out as a foster fail for one of our very shy boys, Jack, and has since foster failed Harper and Mocha as well. Sherry has since fostered many of our shy pups, helping build their confidence and get them ready for their forever homes. She has volunteered countless hours with reference checks, transport, events, and donating a great deal to our organization.

Sherry has been a part of our board since 2024, spearheading most of our event coordination, transport management, and foster support. With her 36 years of experience with the Navy, we are beyond thrilled to have Sherry on the team.
